Haven’t done a video in a few days, but had some down time between class so here you go :)
Holy fuck, the people I see at work. This woman came in asking to check in. First of all, we did check ins last week. I asked if she had paperwork for it, and she said no because she had just gone to OHRL and got a room like today. So she was getting more and more annoyed for no reason, asking to see the RD and acting like a bitch. So I called OHRL to confirm that she actually was supposed to move in, because that’s my job. They said yes, and when I asked for her icard she literally threw it at me. Bitch, you’re lucky I’m helping you at all and not calling my boss. I finally got her paperwork all set up, and sent her to her actual building. I hate people who are so ungrateful. You would think since she’s in college she would know how to act.
PS this was originally posted to my other blog, but since it’s at IUP I thought I would put it here too lol
Very entertaining first Thirsty Thursday of the semester :P. The neighbors came over and made carpet angels, hugged the walls, and thought they were home in our room. It was cute and funny :P.
Half way through the week yay! Went to my Psychology and Sociology classes, and did some reading in the library. Although there were really loud people sitting in the study room, very distracting. Went to the gym with my roommate, picked up a package from my room, bought posters for the room, and ate chinese while watching Dance Moms with my roommates :). It was nice to not have to work today, but I do have to work Friday twice. Also got an awesome coupon book for a ton of place around campus! Can’t wait to use them :D

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven’t posted in a few days, I’ve been running around campus like a maniac with Welcome Weekend. Yesterday, I helped people move into Wallwork from 7:30-11:30, ate a quick lunch, relaxed for a bit, went to Playfair, hung out with my roommate Katie after she moved in, then went to Happening at the HUB, where I helped out with the airbrush tattoo station (and got one myself lol) and danced for a while after my shift was done! Today I gave tours to some Biology majors around campus, went to lunch, and now my other roommate Sara is moving in right now :). Later I’ll be going to the nutrition department meeting at 3:45, then to Convocation and the cookout at 5:00. Hopefully I’ll see some of you there :)
The next installment of my IUP daily life vlog :) check it out and feel free to ask me questions on here about IUP or my life
As a vegetarian, I’m always looking for quick and tasty things I can make using only a microwave for when I’m up at school. Tonight, I made pesto rice :D. I put 1 cup of Minute brown rice (right from the box) and 1 cup of water into my awesome microwaveable rice/vegetable/pasta cooker. I think I found it at Target for like 10 bucks, it’s just a white plastic rice cooker with a basket for veggies and pasta. I put the bowl into the microwave for 7 minutes, with the lip sealed on but the vents open. I let the rice sit, with the vents closed, on the counter for another 5 minutes, and voila! Perfectly cooked brown rice in a microwave!! I then added 2-3 tablespoons of Classico Basil Pesto (you can find it in grocery stores with the pasta sauces, it’s in a little glass jar). Yum!! So this is my dinner for tonight, since my meal plan doesn’t kick in for a few days since I’m here early.
My first vlog update from school :) Let me know what you think of the video idea , whether it’s better or worse or the same as a typed entry.
Hey there :). Here’s my day at IUP
Got up at 8am, and realized that I didn’t have to be anywhere till 10 so snoozed until 8:45. Took a shower, got dressed, ate a handful of trail mix and went to the office. Spend the morning doing key inventory of Maple East and Ruddock. Went to lunch around 11:30, and saw some of my band friends. Left lunch a little early to grab a nonfat latte at The Commonplace. If you live on or near campus, I highly recommend it over Starbucks. Such an awesome atmosphere :). Went back to the office to finish the key inventory (around 400 keys…) and found out that an earthquake hit the northeast part of the country! I didn’t feel it personally, but one of the CAs in the office and one on the 4th floor felt it. It was cool to meet some of the other building staff today. Went to hang up signs in all the laundry rooms in the building, and came back to the office and saw that I forgot other posters I was suppossed to hang all through the building as well.. Guess I’ll have to take another walk lol. Anyways I’m in the office until 6 again, then I’ll have to figure out where I’m eating dinner since my meal plan hasn’t kicked in yet. I’m thinking Sheetz haha. Then I might hang out with one of my friends who’s here for band camp, since I haven’t actually got to hang out with her since spring semester. So that’s my second full day at IUP for fall 2011. Getting back into the swing of things :).
I laugh when I see freshman post statuses this week about being soooo bored on campus. Dude, there are so many things to do, and guess what you don’t even have to party to do them! You can walk on philly street, check out the shops, go to the mall, watch a movie with friends, order pizza, find someone with video games. If you think that you have to party every single night to be a college student or to have fun, you should rethink what college is. And you’ve been here like 2 days. You might have some boring nights, but the great thing is that you have the next 8 semesters (at least) to find fun things to do. You’ll be fine, trust me.
The main reason I point out freshman in this post is because there the majority of the campus population right now, since it’s CUSP week and only freshman can do it.
